Dear Parents

This evening our Summer Fayre will be held in school at 5pm-7pm. There will be pork rolls, cream tea and cakes and refreshments so no need to cook tea this evening! Stalls will include chocolate tombola, bottle stall, face painting, glitter tattoo ,hook a duck, football shootout and lots more for a lovely family evening. We look forward to a lovely evening and my thanks to all the parents and grandparents who have worked so hard towards the Fayre. A big thank you to all of the local businesses who donated prizes to our Summer Raffle. A list of sponsors can be found at the end of this newsletter.

On Wednesday this week Year 6 attended the annual Good Shepherd Mass at St George’s in Worcester. It was a beautiful Mass attended by children from fourteen Catholic schools and celebrated by Archbishop Bernard Longley and several priests from the Deanery. The children took forward their donations of money raised over Lent which will fund opportunities for people less fortunate than ourselves in the Diocese. The children were, as ever, beautifully behaved, prayed and sang with great reverence and were a credit to their families and school. Well done Year 6.

The whole school trip to the Dudley Zoo will soon be upon us, Friday 12 July, details of payments can be found on Parentpay. Final payments must be made by 5 July in order for arrangements, group lists and coaches to be finalized. Thank you to everyone who has offered to come as helpers. Parent payment details will be added to ParentPay after 21 June and a safeguarding meeting regarding the trip will be held on Wednesday 10 July. Thank you.

This morning, Fr Richard was in school to say Mass for Year 6 which as ever was a lovely opportunity to also welcome family and parishioners to join us. Next Friday, Year 4 will celebrate their class Mass and a welcome goes to all parents and friends to join them. Also next Friday our Year 3 children will receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation as on Sunday 23 June at 10.00am Mass, our Year 3 children will receive their First Holy Communion. This as you know is such an important day in the spiritual life of the children so please remember them in your prayers. We ask that they are supported by their school friends with a strong choir. There will be plenty of space in the church as they are a small group and it is a lovely opportunity for the parish and school to celebrate together as a community.

Year 1 have had a busy week as they have completed their statutory phonics screening. Every child tried their very best which is all we can ever ask of them. Well done Year 1, we are very proud of you!

Please check the school website calendar for Showcase Assembly dates which are coming up over the next few weeks. We are looking forward to seeing and hearing about all the children have achieved over the last year.

Key Stage 2 children, and particularly Year 6, are all very busy preparing for their production of ‘Into the Woods which they will be performing on the afternoon and evening of Monday 1 July at 2.00pm and 6.30pm. It promises to be a lovely event with Year 6 leading the acting and singing and Years 3, 4 and 5 as dancers. Please return ticket orders to the school office as we will not be able to admit anyone without tickets. Thank you.

On Tuesday 25 June we are holding our annual New Intake Evening for parents of children starting at St Wulstan’s in September. Even if you already have a child in school it is important that you attend this meeting as this will be an opportunity to give you information and for you to ask any questions you may have. We look forward to seeing many of you then.

Please ensure that your Tempest photograph orders are returned to school by Wednesday 19 June at the latest.

As mentioned before half term, Year 4 enjoyed a ’Saxon Day’ at Bishop’s Wood. They will share much of their learning at their Showcase Assembly but a few photographs are included today as a taster of the day.

If you have any queries or concerns regarding your child's academic, social or emotional needs please do not hesitate to contact me or their class teacher. We wish you all an enjoyable weekend
