Dear Parents

I hope all mums enjoyed being spoiled and treated last Sunday! I would like to say a massive thank you to the PTA who provided every child with a bunch of daffodils to give to their mum. It was a very thoughtful gesture and I am sure very much appreciated by everyone. A particular thank you to Kim Ball and Hannah Gariff who spent Friday wrapping and tying up all the little bouquets for the children.

On Saturday our girls took part in the Catholic Teachers' Association annual Netball Tournament. We couldn't be more proud of the Under 9 team as they showed excellent sportsmanship and determination to do their best and were very worthy competitors. Although not medal winners, the U9 teams were both enthusiastic and impressive showing great promise for the future. They played well together as a team and it was lovely to see how they have developed their skills over the last year.

The U11 team fought hard in all of their matches illustrating some fantastic team work. The girls got through to the semi-finals and after a thrilling closely fought match achieved third place and were bronze medal winners. We couldn't be more proud of the players as they showed excellent sportsmanship and determination to do their best and are very worthy bronze medal holders. Well done girls!

As well as thanking the children for their hard work and the parents for such wonderful support and enthusiasm, I would like to acknowledge the staff who give so freely of their own time. Mr Tasker, Mrs Portman, Mrs Jones and Mrs Tasker have coached after school CTA training clubs since Christmas and gave up their Saturday to accompany the children. As many parents commented to me, there were very few schools whose children were so well supported. My thanks to everyone, children, parents and staff.

This Saturday, at 11.15 am in St Wulstan's church, our Year 3 children will receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Please remember the children in your prayers as they continue in their journey of faith. They are very excited!

Thank you for all the fabulous Easter bonnets that have already arrived in school in response to our Age UK flyer last week. They are wonderful - very colourful and imaginative. Please look out for them on display in the shop window by the Spar shop. Voting for the winner starts on Monday 19 March Well done children!

Look out next week for details of our annual 'Decorate an Easter Egg' competition ! Each year the entries amaze us both in imagination and skill. A chocolate Easter egg for each class winner!

Next week Year 1 Year 2 are off on a trip to Harvington Hall. We look forward to hearing all about it especially the hidden priest holes designed by our MAC saint, Nicholas Owen. If you have not yet done so, payments for the trip are made through your ParentPay account which also acts as your consent for your child's to attend the trip. Similarly, the Year 3 Chedworth Roman Villa trip is payable through ParentPay and also promises to be a great day out!

Deacon John has asked us to highlight a charity fashion show which is being held at M&Co in Lombard Sreet Stourport on Sunday 15 April at 3pm. Tickets are £5.00 and can be bought in the store or from Marie O'Brien on 07885503724. All proceeds go to the 'Friends of the Holy Land' and your support is very much appreciated.

Wishing you a lovely weekend with your children.
