Yesterday was National Reception Offer Day 2026.
Families across the country found out which school their child has been offered for September.

Welcome to everyone who has been offered a place at an EMMAUS School. We are excited for your child to join us and to experience an extraordinary education!

What next?
  • Please accept your offer
To secure your child's place, make sure you accept the offer by the deadline shown in your letter or email.

  • Still looking for a Reception place?

St Wulstan's Catholic Primary School in Stourport  and St Ambrose Catholic Primary School in Kidderminster still have availability for September. Please contact either school directly to enquire.

Your child's new school will soon send you information about the transition. This will include what happens next, important dates, and how we will help your child settle in smoothly.

We look forward to welcoming our new Reception children in September.

Autism Awareness Day will take place on Friday 24th April. As April is World Autism Awareness Month, it’s a lovely chance for our school community to come together, learn more, and show our support. We will be raising money for the National Autistic Society, and kindly suggest a donation of £1 if you are able to contribute (made payable on your Arbor account).  Children are invited to wear blue (either one or two items or a completely blue outfit!) on the day to help us celebrate and raise awareness. We will begin the morning with a whole school Mass at 9:15am, and parents are very welcome to join us. Afterwards, please stay for tea, coffee, and cake – a great opportunity to chat and help us raise even more funds for this important cause.

FORMING CHRIST CENTERED PILGRIMS OF HOPE

Welcome back to school after the Easter break. It has been wonderful to see the children return, many of them now wearing their summer uniforms, a sure sign that the new season is upon us. The school has quickly been filled again with energy, enthusiasm and a sense of joy as we begin this new term together.
We began the week by gathering as a whole school for a Celebration of the Word, centred on the Easter story. This was a special time for prayer and reflection, where we explored the meaning of the Resurrection and the joy that Easter brings. The children reflected on the importance of the word Alleluia—a word of praise and celebration—and how it reminds us of the hope and new life that Jesus brings. We considered how the season of Easter invites each of us to grow in our faith and deepen our relationship with God.

As we continue through the Season of Easter, we will be using the coming weeks to explore our diocesan mission in light of the Resurrection. Each week, we will reflect on the Gospel and think carefully about how its message can guide our actions and choices in everyday life. Through this, we aim to deepen the children’s understanding of what it means to live as followers of Christ.
In particular, we will focus on our mission to become Christ-centred pilgrims of hope. We will encourage the children to develop kind and compassionate hearts, to ask thoughtful questions, to nurture a thirst for knowledge, and to grow in their understanding of justice and fairness. By reflecting on the teachings of Jesus, we hope to inspire the children to live out these values both in school and in the wider world.
This weekend’s Gospel, recounting the journey on the Road to Emmaus, reminds us that we are all pilgrims on a journey of faith, and it beautifully links to our mission as pilgrims of hope, recognising Christ walking alongside us, guiding us and filling us with renewed hope.

This Sunday at 10:00am, St Wulstan’s Church will hold a Mass of Commitment for all children preparing to receive their First Holy Communion and Confirmation in June. During this special Mass, the children will make a commitment to continue their preparation and deepen their faith as they approach these important sacraments. We look forward to warmly welcoming the children and their families to this meaningful occasion.

Pioneer Centre news from Year 5

Year 5 had a fantastic time at the Pioneer Centre in Cleobury Mortimer. The children participated in a wide range of adventurous activities, including climbing, archery, and team-building exercises. Mrs Warnett, Miss Homsin and Mr. Tasker were particularly impressed by their behaviour, cooperation, and willingness to challenge themselves. Please see our facebook page to read the daily updates and see photographs.

Reception

The children have been incredibly busy this week. In RE, they have been learning about the Easter Story and have created some beautiful stained glass window artwork, which is now proudly displayed in the classroom. In English, the class has been exploring the book Oi Frog and have produced some lovely pieces of writing inspired by it. In Art, the children have enjoyed experimenting with drip painting, creating vibrant and imaginative pieces. Meanwhile, in Science, they have been learning about magnets and exploring how they work.

KS1

Year 1 and 2 have had a busy week back! They have been planning their class assemblies and love being able to work with a partner to do this. They came up with lovely ideas and it was great to see how their independence in leading an assembly has grown as the year progresses. In maths, the children have started learning about money and adding notes and coins together. The children were keen to tell us about their experiences of spending their pocket money, which is lovely to hear in an increasingly digital world. In computing, the children have continued to learn about spreadsheets. We were impressed to see the children complete some complex work, using a spreadsheet to calculate amounts of money. It was a great way of reinforcing our current maths learning as well as computing skills. The children were able to use language such as 'cell', 'row' and 'column' when discussing their work. In DT, the children made their healthy wrap designs and especially enjoyed evaluating them by doing some taste testing. They looked delicious! In English, the class have been reading 'The Princess and The Pea' and have enjoyed playing with a beautiful mouse castle toy to help develop their understanding and enjoyment of the story.

Year 4

Year 4 have been creating PowerPoints for their pupil led liturgies next week. They have also been developing their ICT skills by designing structured slides, inserting images, and presenting information clearly for an audience. In PE, they have been developing their cricket skills, including batting, bowling, fielding, catching, and applying basic game rules, as well as working collaboratively as part of a team. They have also started a new DT topic, we looking forward to telling you more about this over the next few weeks.

Year 5

See Pioneer Centre update above.

Year 6

It has been a great first week back after the Easter holidays, and the children have worked incredibly hard across all areas of learning.
In RE, Year 6  have been studying the story of Doubting Thomas and considering how the questions Thomas asked, helped to strengthen his faith. The children have also continued their Confirmation work, exploring the first followers of God with a focus on the story of Abraham and his son Isaac.
In English, the children have been very excited to begin our new focus of a narrative retell. Inspired by the ruins of Whitby Abbey, they are creating their own versions of a dark, autumnal evening exploring the ruins. Their ideas have already been incredibly imaginative, and Miss McGowan is very much looking forward to reading their completed writing.
In PE, the children have started a tennis unit. This week, they have been developing accuracy and control when hitting the ball to a partner. Next week, Year 6 will also begin their cricket unit.
In Maths, the focus has been statistics. The children have impressed Miss McGowan by confidently finding the mean of a set of numbers and exploring pie charts.
Just a reminder too from Miss McGowan, that homework for the children is now set online and can be accessed through Century and Spelling Frame. It is really important that the children try and complete as much as they can as this work is there to support them on their journey towards SATS. If there are any problems with access, or any other questions, then please do not hesitate to contact Miss McGowan.
Finally, a reminder that all children are invited to attend Mass this Sunday. This is an important part of the children’s Confirmation journey, and it would be wonderful to see as many families there as possible.
