Dear Parents

We hope you all well and keeping safe.  I would like today to highlight a very important parent briefing letter posted on our website today. The purpose of the letter is to inform you of the Multi Academy Company (MAC) response to the government’s plans for a phased reopening to the wider school community. This letter lays out the plans for the next stage of our partial reopening. It is extremely important to read it especially if it directly affects you as a parent of a child in Reception, Year 1, Year 6 or if you are a Key Worker requiring childcare.

In order to allow us to plan please ensure that you have applied for a childcare place or indicated that your child in Year 6 will or will not be returning to school on 2 June. We are in the process of preparing the school for partial reopening and as you can imagine this is a complicated task so it is essential we receive all responses by 8pm this evening. Over the half term holiday we will be emailing parents outlining the procedures and detailed information for our Year 6 children and Key Worker children’s return. Please check your emails regularly.

I would at this point just like to acknowledge the overwhelming amount of time, work, guidance and support all our St Nicholas Owen MAC schools have received from Suzanne Horan, CSEL, the Directors and Central Team. The huge challenge to open as safely as possible for our children, staff and parents has been their overriding priority and we are extremely grateful for all they have done to support the staff and our Academy Committee.

It has been lovely to yet again see the fabulous pictures on Facebook and hear of the children’s home learning. It is hard to believe we have reached half term. Please use this time to relax, re group with no school work and enjoy time as families. We are amazed at how much you have done with your children while still maintaining family life and working from home. Home learning for all groups will be uploaded on 31 May. Marks and Spencer have started to advertise uniform with their usual summer discount. Please check their website for further details.

Please remember our returning children, parents and staff in your prayers as we take the first steps forward to our school life.

We wish you a safe and happy half term break.

God bless and take care, from all the staff
