Dear Parents

We hope you all had a good Easter break and the lovely weather. I think everyone enjoyed the Easter break and the children have come back refreshed and ready for the new term. As we start the Summer term in these changing times we look to this season of new life and hope that we will soon return to greater relaxation and freedom . A happy St George's Day to everyone today.

Finally, it would seem warmer weather has arrived. A reminder for every child to bring a school water bottle in for rehydration throughout the day in class, bottles can be purchased from the school office (£2.00). Please only use school water bottles to avoid leakage onto the children's work. We are unable to apply suncream so please ensure children have it applied before leaving home . Thank you to all the parents who have adhered to our uniform policy regarding extreme hair cuts and appropriate summer wear. Thank you for your support. We are pleased to welcome new staff to St Wulstan's for this summer term. Due to restrictions obviously parents have not been able to physically meet the Year 1 and Year 5 teachers, Mrs Hulbert and Mr Blackman so we have attached their photographs below. Please remember you can email them both in the same way using the class email address. We also welcome Mrs Westwood who will be supporting with children in Reception class.

There will be a meeting short meeting for the Year 4 parents whose children will shortly be receiving their First Holy Communion on Thursday 6 May at 3.35pm in the school hall. This meeting will outline the necessary procedures for the Holy Communion Mass and relevant information. The meeting will be held under socially distant government restrictions so please only one parent to attend and face masks worn. The children will be cared for by Mr Tasker while the meeting takes place but if you need to bring an under school age child that's absolutely fine. If you have not already contacted us please email the school office by Tuesday 27 April with a preferred date of either 12 or 19 June for your Mass and we will try to accommodate everyone's first choice. If you have no preference we will allocate a date to you. We are sure that although different from previous years it will be a lovely occasion for the children.

A reminder than under current restrictions all Masses from St. Wulstan’s Church are live streamed.

Yesterday Year 5 had an exciting morning as they filmed their Hagley Pyramid video with Mr Mallinson.
We are all really looking forward to seeing the final product for all the Pyramid Concert schools later in the summer term.
The children were superb in their acting , singing and performance, we were very proud of them.

We are delighted that our new intake for Reception Class September 2021 have now been offered their places. We are very much looking forward to welcoming our new children and will notify you soon regarding our induction programme. We do have some spaces still available so if you know of anyone who is unsure of accepting the offer they have received and would like to look around and apply to St Wulstan's please encourage them to contact me. Thank you

Congratulations  to these Year 2 children for successfully completing their Easter Reading Challenge.
They have had a busy week as after
writing about Jack and the Beanstalk this week, Year 2 planted some magic beans
of their own!

If at any time you have any concerns at all about your child, be they educational, social or emotional, please do not hesitate to contact their class teacher or myself.
