Dear Parents

I was not sure what to do about a newsletter this week but whether we are in the school building or isolated in our homes we are still, and will always be, the family of St Wulstan’s Catholic Primary school so you are not escaping a weekly letter!

We have been inundated with photographs of our children working hard at home so our pictures will be our main news until we are all back in school together and normal life resumes. Thank you for the photographs sent directly via Facebook messenger or the class email, could we ask that you also write that we have permission to share them on Facebook. Thank you.

I am very grateful to the staff for their diligence in ensuring class homework, ‘Home Learning’ packs and class emails were set up before we closed on Friday. Please remember if you have any issues with accessing homework, log ons or concerns just email the class email or the school office. We are either at school child caring key worker children or working at home and will respond to you as soon as possible. Each week's work will be uploaded on a Sunday evening about 5 pm. We will send a push notificationwhen all is ready. Can I also remind you that If anyone has, at anytime, a concern regarding a child’s well being or a safeguarding  concern please email or  telephone school immediately.

Please keep an eye on the school website where we will upload any information and guidance during school closure under the Coronavirus tab. There is also a flyer highlighting the Wyre Forest and Hagley Partnership which anyone can contact if you like some help with  eg putting new routines into practice, helping siblings co operate better etc. There is an email and telephone number, our Link Worker is Anna Massey.

In these extraordinary times we are all adjusting to a way of life that is so hard to comprehend. It brings so many worries and fears but so many people have said it has also been a reminder of what is most important in our lives, our families , our health and our faith.  Over the last week it has been an absolute privilege to see the kindness and generosity of spirit given by so many people of all ages. On the Friday afternoon I went around every class, starting with Reception. They told me how they were going to be ‘Stay at home super heroes ‘ who by washing their hands and working at home would rid the world of nasty germs. I am not sure how I managed to get to another classroom.  This week we have created a staff rota for childcare for our Key Workers children. Without exception every member of staff has joined this rota, our cleaners and caretaker have thoroughly cleaned every night, our dinner ladies came in on Monday to offer help, parents have sent in messages , cakes and offers of help if we need extra with childcare. It is true, at times of crisis you really do see the true spirit of our community. Thank you.

I hope you enjoy the photographs and remember we are only an email or a phone call away to give help or assistance.  Do not panic or stress about the children’s work, you’re doing a great job and just as in school some lessons and days will always go better than others. The important thing now is to keep well, keep safe and stay at home and we look forward to the time when we are all back together again.

God bless and with much love to all our children and families, from all the staff.
