Dear Parents

It has been a lovely week as the whole school begins the season of Advent leading up to Christmas. Everyone should now have received a letter regarding Christmas celebrations with details of how to order tickets for their child's evening performance. We understand that families, whilst understanding the need for the need to maintain Covid safe, may wish for more tickets. As soon as we know how many unallocated tickets are available we will notify you via a school life notification with details of how to request further tickets. Please return you slips as soon as possible to enable us to allocate tickets swiftly. Thank you.

Our Advent Calendar Raffle has come to a close today. We have raised a huge £57 due to everyone's generosity and this money will be put together with funds raised at the Christmas Market to purchase exciting resources for all of the children to use in school. Thank you to everyone who has purchased a ticket. The raffle will be drawn on Monday morning during assembly - good luck all!

Thank you to everyone who bought Christmas cards, a terrific £106.44 was raised in commission for school funds. This will be spent on resources for the children.

Pre pay for your entry tickets to the school's Christmas Market on Friday 3 December 2021, 5:00 - 6:30pm now on Parent Pay. Adult tickets are £1 each and include a free entry in to a raffle, children enter for free. This will be a lovely chance for the community to come together and get the festive season started. We are planning to hold the market outside in the playground so come dressed for warmth! Our newly formed Carol Club will be providing the entertainment. Stalls at the Christmas Market will include: Hot pulled pork rolls, hot dogs, chilli nachos, crepes and waffles, mulled wine, beer, soft drinks, hot chocolate, tea and coffee, Teacher's Bottle Stall, Jam Jar Raffle, Chocolate Bar Tombola, decorate a gingerbread man, pick and mix stall. There will also be a children's gift stall - each child will have a tealight jar that they have made in school and festive photograph of themselves packaged up ready to purchase for £3 - the perfect gift for family members or just a lovely keepsake for home! We very much look forward to seeing you there!

On Friday 10 December, we will be holding our annual Christmas Jumper day. The children are invited to wear a Christmas jumper in place of their usual school jumper/cardigan in exchange for bringing in a donation to the local foodbank. Please do not feel the need to purchase a new Christmas jumper just for this event - an ordinary jumper that has been made festive with tinsel or other decorations would be just as lovely as any Christmas jumper that can be purchased. If children would also like to bring in and wear Christmas themed head gear (such as hats, boppers, ears etc.) then that would be wonderful as well. That afternoon, the whole school will be taking part in Kemp Hospice's Rudolph Run. The whole school will be running a few laps of the school field in order to raise money for Kemp. There is a Just Giving link below for anyone who would like to make a donation.

This morning Reception Class had a wonderful trip to the library. They were very lucky that the rain mostly stayed away for their walks to and from the library. Whilst they were there the children met the librarians and were shown how to use the library to be able to borrow books. They spent a lot of time looking at books and playing with puzzles. They were even lucky enough to listen to a story read by one of the librarians. Each child chose a book to bring back to class for them to enjoy together over the next few weeks. Well done Reception Class!

We hope everyone has an enjoyable weekend with their families , especially if you are starting Christmas preparations!
