Dear Parents

This week Year 5 have had a week of Bikeability, learning to be safe on the roads. The children have all done extremely well and the two instructors were very complimentary about their sensible behavior and eagerness to learn. Well done Year 5.

On Thursday we all enjoyed a wonderful performance by Hagley's Reggae band who performed many familiar songs. The children and staff thoroughly enjoyed the performance and we thank the students from Hagley and Mr Mallinson, their teacher, for their time and enthusiasm - as you can see from the photographs it was brilliant!

Please ensure you check the school website calendar for Showcase Assembly dates which are coming up over the next two weeks. We are looking forward to seeing and hearing about all the children have achieved over the last year.

Next Wednesday is 'Move up' day. Our Year 6 children who will be transferring to Hagley will be visiting their new school for the day. For children in Years R - 5 and those starting in Reception Class in September, they will get the opportunity to meet their new teacher for next year and spend the morning in their new classroom. We are very pleased that Mrs Freitas will be able to join us for the day and current Year 4 children will be able to meet her.

Key Stage 2 children, and particularly Year 6, are all very busy preparing for their production of 'Mary Poppins' which they will be performing on the evenings of Wednesday 4 July and Thursday 5 July at 6.30pm. It promises to be a lovely event with Year 6 leading the acting and singing and Years 3, 4 and 5 as dancers. The children will need to return to school at 6pm each evening.

On Thursday 12 July you will receive your child's annual school report. For children in Years 1, 2 and 6 this will include the results of statutory testing in phonics for Year 1 and end of Key stage assessments for Years 2 and 6. Having started to read many of the children's reports it is clear to see how hard they have all worked this year, and also how kind and caring our children are. Well done everyone. We don't hold a formal Parents' Evening in the summer term as parents obviously receive the written report but if you do wish to discuss something further please contact me via the school office.

The whole school trip to the Cotswold Wildlife Park is on Friday 13 July, details of payments can be found on Parentpay. Final payments must be made by 6 July in order for arrangements, group lists and coaches to be finalized. Thank you to everyone who has offered to come as helpers. Parent payment details have now been added to ParentPay Thank you.

We wish you all an enjoyable weekend and look forward to see many family and friends at tonight's Summer Fayre.
