Dear Parents and Carers

We hope everyone has had a lovely summer break and we are very much looking forward to the return of all our children on Wednesday 7 September.

We are pleased to say we are reverting fully to our pre Covid routines of arrival and dismissal. The school pedestrian gates will now be opened at 8.40am for parents and carers to wait in the playground. Please do not leave your child unaccompanied until a member of staff opens the school door. The playground door into school will then be opened by myself or Mrs Warnett at 8.50am. Once your children come in please exit the playground via the side pedestrian gate. There is no longer the need to follow the one way system and use the vehicular exit. Please be aware the side gate onto the carpark will be locked and so access is only through the main pedestrian gate. While children in Year 1-6 will wait in the playground our new Reception children and parents can walk around to the Reception Class gate where they will be met by Mrs Harris.

As Year 1 children will be coming into school via a new entrance they may feel a little apprehensive. In order to allay any worries Miss Morgan will greet the children in the playground and walk them in together. After a few days we are sure they will be happy to walk in independently.

At home time Reception class and Year 1 will be collected from the Reception class gate at 3.25pm. All other classes will be dismissed into the playground as usual. Please make yourselves very visible to your child's teacher while they become accustomed to new faces.

Sadly Mrs Brown, our Office Manager, has suffered a family bereavement and so will not be in school for the start of term. The office will be covered but please bear with us if we are not quite as efficient as usual. If your child is absent please ensure you ring or email the office before 9.30am , thank you.

MANOR ADVENTURE RESIDENTIAL: Please log in to ParentPay in order to check your remaining balance for this trip. Final payments MUST be made by Wednesday 7 September in order for your child to attend. If you have any queries or want to discuss payments, please contact the school office on 01299 877808 on Wednesday 7 September or secretary@wulsev.worcs.sch.uk. Please ignore this message if you have paid in full. Kit lists will be sent out again upon the children's return to school. We are sure the children are very excited and it promises to be a wonderful start to their new school year.

Please ensure that you have ordered by the end of today if you wish your child to receive a hot meal from Monday 12 September. Please note that children going in to Year 3 are no longer entitled to Universal Infant Free School Meals and lunches will now have to be paid for. The exception to this is if you are eligible to receive Free School Meals.

A reminder that the school uniform policy is on the website and we appreciate the support we invariably receive in adherence to it. No doubt many families will have school uniform that is outgrown but still in very good condition. We would like to establish a bank of 'pre loved' school uniform that parents can access. To this end we are requesting that if you have any good quality uniform that you feel could be still be used you send it into school. One of our Governors, Mrs  Jenn Hill, has very kindly offered to sort and catalogue it for us . If you have any jumpers, trousers, shirts, skirts, PE kit, coats please send them into school. Please ensure they are washed and ironed so readily available for other parents. If you are interested in any preloved clothing please contact myself or the office. Thank you in anticipation.

The school calendar on our website has been updated so please check regularly for upcoming events. On Wednesday 14 September we will be holding our annual ’Open classroom’ session after school from 3.40-4.10 pm.  This is an opportunity for you to come into school at the end of the day to visit your child’s new classroom so they can show you where they sit and meet their new teacher. Reception Class Open classroom will take place at 9.00-9.30 am that morning so your child can show you their morning routine. We will also be celebrating a whole school Beginning of Year Mass at St Wulstan's Church on Friday 16 September at 10.00am to which all our parents, friends and family are invited. We are looking forward to seeing you on either or both occasions.

A new school year is always exciting and full of anticipation. We are looking forward to next week when we welcome our new children and our wonderful school community is together again.

If you have any concerns at any time please do not hesitate to contact us.

Yours faithfully
