Dear Parents

We hope everyone is keeping safe and well. Through our Seesaw messages, Facebook page and class emails it has been wonderful to see for our whole community keeping in touch and to see that the children's enthusiasm and love of learning has remained the same. A huge thanks from the staff to all of our families for sending through work and for supporting the children over the last two weeks - it is so very much appreciated. Thank you, we totally understand how difficult this can be to manage as many of the staff leave here and go home to do exactly the same with their own children. We can all only try our best. If you have any problems at all accessing remote learning either through internet, device or log in issues please contact school immediately so we can support.

It was such a pleasure to join several classes Zoom meetings this week. The children were certainly treated over Christmas and loved showing their new toys to their friends and teachers. I must be honest the highlight for me was meeting the absolutely gorgeous dogs who were lifted up to be shown off on screen! The social aspect of Lockdown, as we all know, is so challenging so if you and your child have not yet joined in a Zoom please try to this week. The children are not under any pressure to say more than they wish  but it’s an important element of them keeping in touch emotionally. Could we please request that if any child is self isolating as awaiting a test result or is tested positive for Covid that you notify school. Thank you.

Please keep an eye on the school website and Facebook page where we will continue to upload any information and guidance during school closure under the Coronavirus tab. There is also a flyer highlighting the Wyre Forest and Hagley Partnership which anyone can contact if you like some help with eg putting new routines into practice, helping siblings co operate better etc

Can I also remind you that If anyone has, at anytime, a concern regarding a child’s well being or a safeguarding concern please email the school office secretary@wulsev.worcs. sch.uk ,  or telephone 01299 877808 immediately. The important thing now is to keep well, keep safe and stay at home and we look forward to all being back together.

Many of our families are presently going through massive changes in their employment, family circumstances or entering times of financial hardship. It could be that they are eligible for some support through Free Schools Meals. Further information and online application can be found on www.worcestershire.gov.uk even if only for a short time measure this could help. If any support is required please ring Mrs Brown in the office who will be able to help. For families in receipt of FSM  you should have received vouchers via email or some by post. If you have not done so by the middle of next week please contact Mrs Brown. My gratitude again to Mrs Brown for organising this in an ever changing system!

Masses at St Wulstan’s church continue be live-streamed and the links will be shared on the church newsletter page. Sunday and some weekday Masses are all live streamed.

It was lovely that so many families virtually attended the specific children’s Diocesan Mass last Tuesday. Fr Jonathan Vessey has always been a tremendous support to Catholic education and the manner in which he directed his homily and prayers to the children reflected that care. This Tuesday is St Wulstan’s Day and although we are not physically together it would be lovely if we all attended Mass again to celebrate.

Well done to all our children for a super week’s work again!

God bless, with much love to all our children and families. From all the staff.
