Dear Parents

We hope you all well and keeping safe. All St Wulstan's staff and Academy Committee Representatives are keeping well and continue to work towards supporting our school community. We are all looking forward to the time when we are back together and pray that it will happen as quickly as is safe for everyone.

Slightly belated but we all wish you a Happy St Wulstan's Day. It was lovely to see so many beautiful photographs of the children's celebrations-prayer areas, prayers, cathedral building and cakes! I would like to thank Mrs Freitas for organising so many lovely activities for the day. She didn't forget the staff either- we all received a bar of chocolate and prayer card! We hope you enjoy some of the many photographs we received.

Thank you to everyone who is ensuring their children's work is uploaded via SEESAW. We understand it may not always be possible to complete everything but it is absolutely vital that the children prioritise and complete their maths, English and reading every day. Every teacher is on SEESAW throughout the day and can respond to the children's messages and work. It is most useful if the children submit each piece of their work as they complete it. Thank you

Some children are logging into SEESAW but not submitting their work for their teacher to mark and thus support their learning. Staff will contact parents to offer further guidance or support if no work is submitted. If you have any concerns regarding accessing Remote Learning either internet, devices or data please contact us so we can look at ways to support you.

With regards to Key Worker children in school, can I please remind parents that if a child has any sign of illness-cold, headache, sore throat, cough, tummy ache or temperature- that you do not send them in. In light of increased infection rates and the prevalence of the new variant in Worcestershire we cannot take any unnecessary chances in school.

The social aspect of Lockdown as we all know is so challenging so if you and your child have not joined in a Zoom yet please try to this week. The children are not under any pressure to say more than they wish but it's an important element of them keeping in touch emotionally.

Please keep an eye on the school website and Facebook page where we will continue to upload any information and guidance during school closure under the Coronavirus tab. There is also a flyer highlighting the Wyre Forest and Hagley Partnership which anyone can contact if you like some help with eg putting new routines into practice, helping siblings co operate better etc

Can I also remind you that If anyone has, at anytime, a concern regarding a child's well being or a safeguarding concern please email the school office secretary@wulsev.worcs. sch.uk ,  or telephone 01299 877808 immediately. The important thing now is to keep well, keep safe and stay at home and we look forward to all being back together.

Many of our families are presently going through massive changes in their employment, family circumstances or entering times of financial hardship. It could be that they are eligible for some support through Free Schools Meals. Further information and online application can be found on www.worcestershire.gov.uk even if only for a short time measure this could help. If any support is required please ring Mrs Brown in the office who will be able to help. !

Well done to all our children who have submitted a super week's work again! We look forward to seeing even more next week.

God bless, with much love to all our children and families from all the staff.

Happy St Wulstan's Day
