Dear Parents

Thank you to all our family and friends who joined us for our Year 5  Mass this morning. As ever our children enjoyed writing prayers and preparing their readings, reading and praising reverently and maturely. We are very proud of them. Next Friday is Year 3’s class Mass and we look forward to welcoming all our Year 3 families and friends.

On Tuesday Year 1 had a very special visitor- Crumble, a most beautiful calm and gentle golden labrador. Crumble is an experienced guide dog who has transformed the life of a blind person as he became their eyes. The children, as well as being so gentle with Crumble , asked thoughtful and intelligent questions of Crumble’s owners. This, following on from their duckling raising , has really brought their topic on ‘Paws, Claws and Whiskers’ alive. We look forward to sharing their work with their families soon.

Our U11 Netball team continue to develop as a challenging and highly competitive team in the local league. Next Monday is the last evening of competition and we look forward to hearing of our final position. Good luck girls!

Two weeks Saturday, April  in St Wulstan’s church, our Year 3 children will receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Please remember the children in your prayers as they continue in their journey of faith. They are very excited!

Please note on the school website we have our updated school dates. These can be found under the calendar tab. Included on here are the September start date and October half term to enable your booking of holidays. As you are aware term time holidays are not authorized because of the impact on children’s learning. If any parent does need to request a child’s absence please make an appointment to meet with me before booking and within six weeks of any absence. This provides an opportunity for us to discuss the impact of any proposed absence on your child. There has been a significant improvement in attendance and late arrivals in the last year so thank you for your support.

Wishing you a lovely weekend.
