Message from Mrs Brocklesby

Christmas is a time of joy, happiness, giving and being in the moment. It’s one that also represents peace and hope, it comes at the end of the year and for many is a time of reflection and looking forward. So whatever your plans I hope you have a restful holiday and enjoy time doing what makes you happiest.
We hope you take some time over the Christmas break to rest, recuperate and relax with your families. Thank you for the cards and Christmas gifts sent for staff. We greatly appreciate your kindness and for thinking of us. Thank you all for your continued support and partnership. Have a great Christmas and let’s try  to bring more of God's love and joy into our family and other families in 2024.

As a family come together and light a candle in Church (see Mass times below) to remind yourself that,

“the Birth of Jesus brings us the good news that we are loved immensely and uniquely by God”

Weekly Round Up From Mrs Warnett

Reception

This week the children in Reception Class were excited to discover that part of their classroom had been transformed into a Christmas grotto. The children have been busy dressing up as elves, wrapping presents and decorating trees.

Key Stage 1

Year 3

This week the children in year 3 have worked incredibly hard finishing off their cushions and learning about volcanoes in geography. They learnt all about how volcanoes erupt and where the ring of fire is located. The children ended the week making Christmas cards, calendars and designing and making their own party hats. Well done year 3 on another brilliant week.

Year 4

Year 5

This week the children in Year 5 have worked incredibly hard and have discovered more about our Solar System and they discussed how ideas of how the planets move have changed throughout the years. They also sang wonderfully with Mr Mallinson in preparation for their Pyramid Concert. Tickets are now on sale and are selling fast, so please ensure that if you would like to join Year 5 for a wonderful musical evening you get those tickets booked! The children have then ended the week getting creative! They had the opportunity to share their completed pop up books with their Reception Faith Friends and then made and designed their own Christmas party hats. They were very impressive and absolutely showed their flair for design and creativity! Well done Year 5!

Year 6

Year 6 have worked very hard on their last week of the term. They have finished their Advent unit by learning about the Parable of the Bridesmaids. This parable explains how it will be when Jesus comes again. No one knows the day or the time when Jesus will come back. It is important that all should always love God and obey him. Consequently, all will be ready for whenever he comes. Year 6 children discussed many ways that people can prepare themselves to rise to heaven with Jesus. To end the week, they have led our school Christmas Mass. Mrs Freitas is so proud of the children's work ethic, diligence and kindness. Well done Year 6!
