2 September

Dear Parents/Carers

We are very much looking forward to the return of all our children tomorrow. Just a reminder of some of the key points sent out in July and also a few further updates in response to new government guidance.

It is vital that you read through the letter emailed to you in July in detail to ensure the safety and well-being of our pupils, parents and staff. Many of these procedures will seem stark at first but please be reassured that our staff will provide the children with a warm welcome every day and will ensure that their emotional and mental well-being is the priority. We want you and your children to feel safe at St Wulstan’s and will continue to provide them with the excellent pastoral care that we pride ourselves on as well as ensuring that they are kept as physically safe as is manageable. Just a few further points to add.

  • Please ensure that you have provided the school office with up to date contact information by returning your data collection sheets by Monday 7 September. This will be sent home with the children tomorrow.
  • As we are unable to hold face to face meetings between teacher and parents we will maintain your child’s class email system. Please note that emails received after 6pm will be answered the next working day and none over the weekend.

  • To ensure no crossing of ‘Bubbles’ the school office will not be accessible during arrival and dismissal periods so please email Mrs Brown or myself on secretary@wulsev.worcs.sch.uk or telephone 01299 877808
  • In accordance with government guidance the children will not need to wear face masks in school. If you wish your child to use one walking down to the main entrance please remove it and take away with you. Staff will not be wearing face masks in class unless they are dealing with a first aid issue.
  • Please do not drive into or attempt to park in Elmfield Walk as this will endanger families as they exit the school site.
  • It is absolutely essential that everyone adheres to their allocated arrival and dismissal time to ensure the safety of the children, staff and parents.

If you arrive before the detailed time, you and your child must not enter the school site. If you enter the school site before your allocated time slot, you will be asked to exit and wait until the correct time.

If you arrive after the detailed time, your child will not be permitted to enter the building and you will be asked to return to the school site once all other bubbles of children have arrived. We know that this sounds very stringent but it is vital that we ensure that no mixing of bubbles occurs.

We totally understand this is a worrying time for parents and wish to reassure you that we will do everything we can to ensure your children are happy, secure and safe in our care. It is extremely important that the systems we have put in place work effectively for everyone’s safety so please adhere to your allocated times and ensure your updated contact details are returned by Monday.

If you have any concerns at any time please do not hesitate to contact us via email or telephone.

We look forward to seeing you all tomorrow morning.
