Dear Parents
We hope everyone enjoyed a lovely half term break as we come back refreshed and ready for a busy and exciting build up to Christmas. Thank you to everyone for ensuring your children returned to school after half term in full winter uniform. The children look so smart and this does have such a positive impact on their attitude in every aspect of their school life. So many visitors to our school comment on our children's appearance, good manners and their happy disposition. They are a such a credit to themselves, their families and their school.
It has been a challenging week at school as both myself and Mrs Warnett have been absent due to illness, We are indebted to Mrs Tasker who though still on maternity leave came into school Monday and Thursday and to two of our EMMAUS MAC Principals, Mrs Brocklesby Tuesday and Mrs Borriello Wednesday who have worked at St Wulstans to ensure all Safeguarding protocols were maintained and the school continued to run safely and smoothly for the children in our absence. It goes without saying the staff have been wonderful in what has been a very busy week.
Thank you to all parents and carers who attended Parents Evening either in person or remotely this week. We appreciate the time taken to complete feedback questionnaires and your extremely positive and constructive comments are very much valued. Thank you. We encourage you to look regularly at the school website and in particular under Class and Curriculum pages where you can see what your child is learning about this term with curriculum focus, Topic work and photographs of their experiences. Please remember if at any time you have concerns about any aspect of your child's work, social or emotional issues please do not hesitate to contact your child's teacher or myself.
Please look on your child's class web page for an overview of the Topic they are studying this half term . There is also the parents letter with suggestions of how you can support their learning .
This week Year 5 started their new topic with a very special visitor. Sheila, from the Kidderminster Beekeepers’ Association came to share her vast knowledge of these amazing creatures. We learnt so much and even got to see honeycomb and taste honey from Sheila’s bees! It was a fantastic way to start the half term and we were very grateful for Sheila’s tome and knowledge. Year 5 were fantastic listeners and then use their new knowledge to write a non-chronological report all about bees.
This week Reception and Year 1 looked at the artwork of Wassily Kandinsky. After picking out features of his artwork we created our own artwork based on his concentric circles.
Thank you to all our parents and carers who joined Y5 and Y6 for Mass this morning. Our weekly class Masses have now resumed and next Friday Year 4 will be celebrating Mass in their classroom at 9.15. All parents and carers are welcome and please stay for a cup of tea and a biscuit afterwards. A list of the dates of each class Mass will be published on the school website calendar shortly .
This morning nearly thirty of our Y4 ,Y5 and Y6 children participated in the Stourport Schools Sports Partnership completing against other Primary schools from across the area. The event held on a beautiful autumnal morning at the Memorial Park was extremely challenging . All the children had to dig deep but competed with great sportsmanship, personal drive and determination. We are very proud of them . Thank you to all the parents who attended to support and to Mr Andy Checketts who accompanied Mr Tasker and Mrs Westwood. We look forward to sharing photographs in next week's newsletter. Well done everyone!
We wish everyone an enjoyable weekend and we look forward to seeing you on Monday.
