Dear Parents and Carers

A very warm welcome back to all our children and families .The staff and I extend a particularly warm welcome to our new children and their families. Our new Reception Class have made an excellent start to their time at St Wulstan’s and they should be very proud of the way they have come into school confidently and happily. All the children have all made a fabulous start to the new school year and there has been a really happy and enthusiastic atmosphere in school when I have visited each classroom. All of the children have settled extremely well, picking up new routines as well as new classrooms and teachers. Thank you to everyone for adhering to the school uniform policy, the children all look so smart and this does have such a positive impact on their self image and consequently their learning.

This morning we gathered to pay our respects to Queen Elizabeth II. We prayed for Her Majesty and her family and remembered all of the wonderful qualities that she had and that she shared with the world. Rest in Peace Your Majesty and Long live our King.

On Wednesday 14 September, we will be holding our annual ’Open classroom’ session after school from 3.40-4.10. This is an opportunity for you to come into school at the end of the day to visit your child’s new classroom so they can show you where they sit etc and meet their new teacher. This does not replace the Parents’ Evening which will take place in November and will provide an opportunity for parents to have a discussion with their child’s teacher about progress and attainment.

CLASS EMAILS: Over the summer, our school network and email system has moved over to a new Emmaus MAC Office 365 environment. As such, this means that all email addresses for staff and classes have changed. Please see below for the new details. Any emails sent to old addresses will not be answered so please do make sure that you have updated your contacts lists. This is a good opportunity to remind parents that any emails sent after 6:00pm will not be answered until the next working day. As we have now returned to normal drop off and collection procedures, any quick messages can be passed to Mrs Savage/Mrs Warnett in the morning or to class teachers at the end of the day. We encourage you to approach your child's teacher at the end of the day after all children have been dismissed should you wish to discuss anything with them. Thank you.

Swimming lessons for Year 4 commence this coming Wednesday,14 September. Please do not hesitate to speak to Mr Tasker or Mrs Brown if you have any queries.

There is great excitement today as Year 5 and Year 6 depart on the annual residential weekend to Manor Adventure. This is always a memorable experience and I am very grateful to Mrs Warnett, Mrs Freitas , Miss Mc Gowan and Mrs Morgan for giving up their weekend. The children always have a wonderful time as they face new challenges with great courage and enthusiasm. We look forward to sharing their experiences with you on their return. We have just heard that they have arrived safely and are all excitedly off to their first activity!
