Dear Parents and Carers

We have had such a varied and exciting week. On Monday Mr Mallinson and the Hagley Mass band came to school for the afternoon. We learnt so much about all the different instruments they played as well as singing some favourite and new hymns. Some of the children were lucky to win badges for being able to answer questions which were quite technical and showed how attentive they had been. It was a lovely afternoon.

On Tuesday were delighted that Fr Richard came into school to say Mass for Year 6 and Reception Class. We celebrated together Mass outside in the sunshine. Year 6 buddied up with a younger child to support them with the rituals of Mass We were so impressed with Tear 6's maturity and gentleness and also by the fantastic prayerfulness and behaviour of the Reception Class. Well done everyone!

Please remember our Year 6 children in your prayers as they receive the Sacrament of Confirmation on Monday 6 June 21  The children have worked extremely hard in their preparation, showing maturity and commitment to their faith. Mass will be celebrated by Canon David Evans at 7.00pm and all are welcome to come and support our young people. We especially welcome any of our children who would like to sing in the choir at this Mass.

On Saturday 11 June Year 3 will receive the Sacrament of the Eucharist at their First Holy Communion. We are looking to a very special day celebrating together.  Again we especially welcome their friends and other children to come and sing in the choir .

Thank you for your support.

Next term each class would like to invite parents and carers to an Open Classroom event. This will be an opportunity to see and listen to some of the work the children have done this term and enjoy some refreshments together. We look forward to seeing you. Please see below forĀ  your class date. Year 6 will be performing their end of year production in July so all their efforts will be on this after half term!

If you have not yet paid for your child could payments be made by Monday 6 June at the latest as we will be planning groups and coaches when we return from half term. Thank you.

Everyone enjoyed a special off timetable day as we celebrated the forthcoming Queen's Platinum Jubilee. Dresses in red, white, blue or purple we had an outdoor picnic lunch with an afternoon of activities in the classrooms. We were entertained by Reception Class singing their Jubilee song which was fabulous! A massive thank you to Mrs Warnett who baked, decorated and wrapped a special celebratory cupcake for every child and adult to take home. They were delicious. The children will all receive a commemorative book which we are informed by the DfE will be distributed to all schools by July. Thank you to everyone for making yesterday such a special event.

We hope everyone has a good week and we look forward to another exciting and busy final term. Please remember if you ever have any concerns regarding your child, academic, social or emotional please speak to me or any member of the teaching staff so we can work together to solve them.

Platinum Jubilee Celebration Day

Reception Class

As we looked towards next week's Jublilee celebrations our Reception children wrote cards to the Queen this week and walked up to the post box to send them on their way. We are hoping to hear back from the Queen very soon!

Year 1

Year 1 worked hard on Thursday to create some crown for the residents at Ravenhurst nursing home to wear for their Jubilee celebrations.

Year 3

Year three have had a fantastic day celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. They each received a section of a picture to complete in whichever art form they wanted and we came together to paste it into one giant display piece at the end of the day. Well done everyone, your work is now on show for everyone in the hall.

Year 5

Year 6

Our footballers club ready to play a friendly match against Lickhill yesterday.

Year 2 were designing and making their own crowns to celebrate the Queen's Jubilee.
