Dear Parents and Carers

Thank you to all our Reception Class parents, carers and grandparents who attended their children's Open Classroom on Wednesday morning. It was a lovely occasion that really showcased how much our youngest children have blossomed over this year. They spoke, sang and performed with such confidence and were genuinely happy to share their learning. We were all very proud of you children and delighted to see your progress. Well done !

This afternoon it was the turn of Year 5 to showcase their year's work. Thank you again to everyone who joined them to share their learning , take apart in a Year 5 activity and enjoy some refreshments. It was lovely to have you join us at school.

As many of you will be aware Mrs Portman will soon be taking a well deserved rest as she commences her maternity leave at the end of the summer holidays. We send her and her family all our best wishes as they await the birth of their baby. We are are pleased to inform you that we have appointed Miss Morgan to cover Mrs Portman's maternity leave and she will take up full time post in September. We are now in the position to share class teachers for next year. On Monday 4 July we will have our annual move up morning. This is an opportunity for the children to meet their new teacher and have a introduction to the exciting year ahead.

The children of Year 6 , 5 , 4 and 3 are all very busy preparing for their production of ' Beauty and the Beast' which they will be performing on the evenings of  12 and 13 July . It promises to be a lovely event with Year 6 leading the acting and singing and Years 3, 4 and 5 as dancers and singers.  It is the first time we have been able to perform any production since 2019 and so this is new to the younger children in Year 3 and Year 4. It is a massively important opportunity for the children to all take part as they gain so much from this experience and will give them insight into what is to come as they move up the school. The children have all been practising so hard and it is vital that all attend on both nights. Please contact me if there are any queries. Thank you. Please return ticket orders to the school office as we will not be able to admit anyone without tickets. Thank you we are all really looking forward to seeing the children's production.

This morning children from Year 1 and Year 2 took part in a Strike and Field morning The children took part in a range of activities including , rounders football, strike challenge, mini rounders matches and many more. The children worked collaboratively in teams with children from other local primary schools. Sadly, just as the morning came to an end the rain poured down on them and they were all slightly soggy but still smiling! Well done children!

Over the last few weeks Reception Class have started practising for Sports Day. They have been working very hard and are looking forward to showing off their skills to everyone on the big day!

A reminder that on Sunday 3 July our school will be leading the singing at St Wulstan's Church 10 am Mass. We would love all our families to join us and for the children to sing as a choir. It is a long time since we have been able to celebrate Mass together like this and we would ask ask many families as possible to come. I am sure the families of the children who recently received the sacraments of Confirmation and Holy Communion would agree the children sing beautifully and certainly bring so much to the parish Mass. We look forward to seeing you on Sunday.

Wishing you a lovely weekend
